For Christmas, for the past 9 years or so I have received the WOW Hits CDs. This year, in keeping with tradition, I got the 2009 CD! And as usual I love it! On the CD is the song "This is Home." Sung by Switchfoot. They wrote this song for the second Narnia movie... but I find this song basically sings what Ted and I have both felt since moving to Nanaimo. You could say its like our little theme song. So here are the words... enjoy! :)
I've got my memories
Always inside of me
But I can't go back
Back to how it was
I believe now
I've come too far
No I can't go back
Back to how it was
Created for a place
I've never known
Chorus:
This is home
Now I'm finally
Where I belong
Where I belong
Yeah, this is home
I've been searching
For a place of my own
Now I've found it
Maybe this is home
Yeah, this is home
Always inside of me
But I can't go back
Back to how it was
I believe now
I've come too far
No I can't go back
Back to how it was
Created for a place
I've never known
Chorus:
This is home
Now I'm finally
Where I belong
Where I belong
Yeah, this is home
I've been searching
For a place of my own
Now I've found it
Maybe this is home
Yeah, this is home
Belief over misery
I've seen the enemy
And I won't go back
Back to how it was
And I got my heart
Set on
What happens next
I got my eyes wide
It's not over yet
We are miracles
And we're not alone
Yeah
(Chorus)
And now after all
My searching
After all my questions
I'm gonna call it home
I got a brand new mindset
I can finally see
The sunset
I'm gonna call it home
Home
(Chorus)
Now I know
Yeah, this is home
I've come too far
And I won't go back
Yeah, this is home
I've seen the enemy
And I won't go back
Back to how it was
And I got my heart
Set on
What happens next
I got my eyes wide
It's not over yet
We are miracles
And we're not alone
Yeah
(Chorus)
And now after all
My searching
After all my questions
I'm gonna call it home
I got a brand new mindset
I can finally see
The sunset
I'm gonna call it home
Home
(Chorus)
Now I know
Yeah, this is home
I've come too far
And I won't go back
Yeah, this is home
So that is our theme song. A lot of it really says how we feel now that we're here, and with a chance that Ted's sister and her family might be moving over here by summer(??), we are going to feel even more secure and more at home here. Family is important to us both, and with my family only a ferry ride away and having some of Ted's family close by would just be awesome. What more could we ask for? I knew right from the start God wanted us here and out of Sooke, and now that we've been here 6 months and I am seeing all the good He has done for us, how could I ever doubt how good God is to us!?!
